ABOUT OREA
A journal for complicated people.
Because human behavior is rarely as simple as a headline, a label, or a quick explanation.
WHY OREA EXISTS
Evidence matters. So does experience.
OREA: A Journal of Psychology and Human Understanding brings research and real life into the same conversation. We explore why people think, feel, connect, struggle, and change, with room for uncertainty and contradiction.
Some articles take on persistent myths. Others look at relationships, addiction, mental health, or the little absurdities of being human. The goal is useful understanding without easy promises.
FROM THE FOUNDER
A clinician’s curiosity. A writer’s voice.
OREA was founded by Alexander Kamp, LCSW, a clinical social worker and writer whose experience spans mental health and addiction care.
Clinical work offers a close view of human stories. Research offers another lens. The journal is an effort to bring those perspectives together in writing that respects both science and the reader.
